Dyspraxia/DCD is a lifelong neurological disorder that affects fine and/or gross motor coordination in children and adults, with speech often affected. Although Dyspraxia/DCD is primarily a motor disorder, individuals can also experience difficulty with memory, perception and processing along with poor planning, organization and sequencing skills all of which can have a substantial adverse impact on everyday activities.
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we have formed our organization to provide real solutions for persons who need assistance in finding the appropriate professionals to identify and diagnose Dyspraxia/DCD, as well as provide support post-diagnosis.
Funding will assist those, evaluated on a case by case basis, who qualify to obtain some of the services necessary to effectively navigate through an already complicated process.
Our focus is to provide individualized support and awareness of Dyspraxia/DCD to those affected by the condition by creating and collaborating with a broad network of professionals within the community - educators, medical care and mental health care professionals, legal professionals, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists and sensory therapists - with the goal of making the maximum positive effort and outcome for those affected with the condition.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
